Bugg Skip Hire, recycling in Essex

Bugg Skip Hire have owned and operated a waste transfer station at Harpers Hill Farm, Nayland for the past fifteen years.

All skips once collected are returned to our licensed waste transfer station, waste management licence number SFK/TS/150/01. Approximately 85% of all waste is recycled and other skip hire companies and local builders also tip directly in our yard.

Once each load is discharged, all of the waste is then picked up by an excavator and loaded into a trommell machine. This machine feeds the waste onto a conveyor belt in our picking station which is manned by a team of waste sorters who separate each material. Each separated material is then stored in locations under the picking station.

The hardcore is then placed through a crusher and re-sold as crushed hardcore.  The soil is put through a screener and sold as screened soil.  The wood is put through a chipper and this is also sold as woodchips.

Other materials such as scrap metal, paper, cardboard are also segregated and recycled.

Only materials that cannot be recycled are then sent to landfill, using our roll on/off lorry which is capable of taking two 40yd loads at one time, using a trailer - to avoid excess fuel consumption.
